Default Haven't played in a long time, worth coming back?

After being bored senseless, broke and not willing to put myself through the pain of F2P MMOs I am wondering if it is worth while coming back to GW. I have the first 3 campaigns and i pretty much just played pve when i was playing the game.

Also would i have to get GW:EN to really enjoy the game again because i have a feeling most the end game content is now there and that is were everyone has moved to. Oh and i wouldn't mind getting stuck into a bit of pvp or gvg this time, any information on this would be great. Thanks

We get these threads every day, try to look at one of the other ones instead of starting a new one.

Hint: Look in the Q&A forum.

There wasn't any sarcasm in my post.

Questions go in the Q&A forum and as I said there are plenty of other people asking the same thing and you should find some answers in those threads.

If you plan on possibly getting GW2, I suggest you get eotn and start getting accomplishments.

GW:EN gets you the Hall of Monuments, which is how you link your GW1 account to a GW2 account. It also has some really nice PvE, particularly the dungeons.

"Worth coming back" is a funny question, since you've already purchased the games and it's absolutely free to log into the game for you and screw around. Why don't you try getting back into it, maybe start a new class you haven't tried to experience the campaign(s) again (and to reaquaint yourself with the mechanics) and look for an active guild that does dungeons and elite missions and stuff.

The main end-game content that most people farm right now is in Nightfall (Domain of Anguish) and Prophecies (Underworld and Fissure of Woe). Okay, technically those last two are core areas, but if you want a group you need to start from Prophecies.

GW1 is still the best F2p (well, technically B2p) out there in my books. If you are going to get GW2, getting your Hall of Monuments (reqs Eye of the North) full of titles, heroes, armors ect is always a very good goal. Domain of Anguish is back and alive with PUGs, so you could try that out. I don't know when you stopped playing, but ANet has come out with Zaishen Bounties, Combat (PvP), and Missions. Those are always fun to do daily. Anet also just got done with War in Kryta. It's like a mini expansion/somewhat like the Bonus Mission Pack. There is more of this type of content planned too. Tbh, the PvE is alive and kicking at the highest since the release of EoTN imo.

Also, casual PvP is still kicking very well, the high-end GvG and HA not so much. So, unless you still have contacts from when you quit, don't expect to high-end PvP anytime soon.

I'm sick of seeing these threads.

There has been stuff added but it may or may not be to your liking. I suggest going back over previous threads to get the feel of how players like it (Such has the Z-quests, WiK, Dhuum addition, Nicholas, etc). Not all of it is going to appeal to everyone.

Instead of making a thread about this, it'd probably just be easier for you to log in and see for yourself.

y not log on to the game and see for yourself. its not like you have to reactivate a subscription of any kind.

but if you want a sincere answer then it depends on why you quit gw in the first place. if your not going to provide any specific details or specific questions, then we can't really do much to help ya.

Step 1: Buy Eotn
Step 2: Install
Step 3: Enjoy
optional step 4: Buy the War in Kryta Costume ~

Answer to your question: it is worth it. ArenaNet practically extended the game with free "semi mini expansion" I am referring, off course, to the new War in Kryta contentS. Its just like having a free Bonus Mission Pack. And would also like to thank them for their dedication to the game and their players.

If you can get past the initial feeling of nothings changed after logging in for a few days, its still easy enough to find a guild to chill with and people to do stuff with, thats what makes it fun

Short answer: no

Long answer: look at the activity of this forum and what all of the people are talking about, should be a big indication of the state of the game

Shenanigans, Reverend! Your priestly wisdom has failed you this time! *shakes fist*

On a serious note, the game still seems to have active members. I went through a pug team for the final mission of the WiK saga and damn did we all kick butt. The team members were really focused and thought about the quest seriously. You'll have to be EotN to get into WiK, so if I were you, I'd get going on that.
